Do you want to know God?

“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:13

Maybe you have been reading some of the blog posts or other content on this website and are finding the messages to be strange and the goals unattainable. There may be a reason for that.

The themes on this site are based on teachings from the Bible and are geared toward those who already know God, but who desire a closer, life-changing walk with him. If you don’t already have a personal connection to God, then his book, the Bible, may be a mystery to you, and you might then believe that the God-infused lifestyle we talk about here is out of reach.

But if, as you read, you sense a desire in your heart to be rightly related to God, please follow that desire. It is the urging of the Holy Spirit upon your life drawing you to God. Don’t ignore it. Instead pray. Simply talk to God. Tell him you realize you have been trying to live your life on your own and that you have left him out entirely.

Tell him that you acknowledge he is the sovereign God who has control over the universe and over your destiny and, therefore, has the right to have control of your life as well. Tell him you are sinful, but you claim the payment Jesus Christ made for your sin when he died on the cross and came back to life three days later. Thank him for the forgiveness of sin that Jesus’ great gift gives and ask him to apply that forgiveness to you.

Then, just listen. Pause in his presence and enjoy knowing your sincere prayer is your way of receiving the gift of salvation and adoption into the family of God. Thank him.

Now tell God that, from this day forward, you are committed to a growing relationship with him through the study of the Bible and the practice of consistent prayer as well as through relationships with other who are already Christ followers. Ask that he teach you and promise to allow him to be in charge of your life.

It’s that simple. Once you have had a conversation like this with the God who created you, you have turned your face toward him. As long as you keep looking in his direction and obey the nudges of the Holy Spirit, he will draw you closer and closer to himself, and your life, I promise, will radically change!

The choice of making this commitment or not making it is yours alone. A rich, fulfilling, spiritually-rewarding life awaits you if you turn your face toward God. I hope you make the choice to follow him.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” – John 3:16-17
